Cowboy Diplomacy

Biography

Austin four-piece Cowboy Diplomacy, blend indie rock with southern blues. Their raw yet classic sound along with lead singer Ian Cochran’s soulful, growling vocals leave a lasting impression.

Cowboy Diplomacy released their debut single, “Follow Me,” in January 2017 with plans to release more new music throughout the year. Mastered by Howie Weinberg (The Wild Feathers, Wilco, Spoon), “Follow Me” encourages listeners to seek their passion. “This past year has been a big one for us,” says the band, “and we’re just beginning to hit our stride. “Follow Me” is the perfect song to come out of the gates with: it’s a reflection on making the most of ourselves.”

The band is comprised of Ian Cochran (guitar, vocals), Brad Bentley (Bass), Zac Walden (lead guitar), and Matt Leslie (drums). In 2017 Cowboy Diplomacy was selected as a Black Fret Nominee and were voted runners-up for Best New Austin Band at the Austin Chronicle Austin Music Awards. They’ve shared the stage with A Thousand Horses and performed on Fox 7’s “Good Day Austin.” You can find Cowboy Diplomacy playing weekly at venues all over town including South Congress Hotel, Handlebar, One2One Bar, and more.
