Jenni Finlay

Owner, Jenni Finlay Promotions

Jenni Finlay effortlessly shapes iconic careers. After all, her singular roster – legendary songwriters James McMurtry, Jon Dee Graham and Slaid Cleaves, as well as rising stars Caitlin Rose and Lucero – consistently climbs charts. “Jenni Finlay works a record with passion, integrity and a deep coolness,” Ray Wylie Hubbard says. The longtime radio promoter recently expanded into artist management. Graham and McMurtry immediately signed on as her first two management clients. “There wouldn’t be much of a James McMurtry business were it not for Jenni Finlay Promotions,” McMurtry says. “For the past 10 years, I’ve been fortunate enough to work with the best of the best in Americana music, truly the cream of the crop of the world’s singer-songwriters,” Finlay says.

The daughter of Cheatham Street Warehouse owner Kent Finlay grew up watching Stevie Ray Vaughan, George Strait and countless other greats perform every night. She later earned a degree from the celebrated Mike Curb School of Music Business at Nashville’s Belmont University. Finlay’s currently co-writing a book called Kent Finlay: Dreamer with Brian T. Atkinson, author of I’ll Be Here in the Morning: The Songwriting Legacy of Townes Van Zandt. Finlay and Atkinson also have teamed up with Shinyribs front man Kevin Russell to co-produce Cold and Bitter Tears: The Songs of Ted Hawkins.
