As the self-proclaimed Live Music Capital of the World, Austin is a vortex of musical creativity and passion that could not exist in any other city.  Musicians come here to live and to thrive in this vibrant, creative community, yet the life of a musician in this changing and growing city can often be full of difficult challenges like the rising cost of living and housing and access to affordable healthcare. HAAM believes that every musician deserves to have access to affordable healthcare services so they can focus on playing the music that makes our city so special. Since starting in 2005, HAAM has helped over 4,200 Austin Musicians access over $35 million dollars in healthcare services. As a uniquely Austin charity, HAAM is the first charity of its kind and several cities across the country have asked for help in duplicating similar services for their cities. HAAM has also been recipient of multiple non profit and community excellence awards and was recently credited in the City of Austin Music survey as having significant impact on Austin musician’s ability to continue in their careers and live in Austin.
